The poster illustrates the journey a person in pain can take from the Pain Hell to becoming a self-manager. The border of the poster contains the 4 components of the program: relaxation, exercise, attitude and occupation. Cartoon characters illustrate the changing relationship the person has with their pain as they journey along the Healing Highway. The Door of Willingness is a turning point, when, the person in pain becomes willing to change, and has developed curiosity about the journey ahead. Beyond the "Door of Willingness" the pain is transformed from something representing danger and a catastrophe, to an opportunity. At the end of the "Healing Highway" the Self-Manager stands on the rainbow with her clipboard, representing organisation, and wand, representing her own healing potential.
